Everyone is welcome who wants to learn about the basic ethical and legal requirements for trustworthy AI from the experts of the AI Factory Austria AI:AT.

This webinar is open and free of charge for all participants from academia, industry, and public administration fromEUand/orEuroHPC JUmember countries.

Beginner – basic knowledge of artificial intelligence and its applications.

Inhalt und Ziele

Artificial intelligence (AI) must be human-centered and trustworthy. This concept is based on three specific requirements: AI must be lawful, ethical, and robust.

This one-hour webinar provides an overview of what constitutes lawful AI and which ethical requirements must be taken into account. It lays the foundation for two further webinars in this series, which will then take a more in-depth look atethicalandlegalrequirements.

At the end of the webinar, participants will know the main requirements arising from the AI Act, data protection, and copyright law when training or simply using artificial intelligence. In addition, they will learn how adhering to core ethical requirements helps to keep pace with technological developments in a responsible manner.

Speakers

Mag. Cornelia Reiter, Bakk. MA (AI Factory Austria AI:AT)
Cornelia Reiter is a sociologist and scientist at the Center for Innovation Systems and Policy at AIT, as well as member of the AI Factory Ethics and Legal Team and the AIT AI Ethics Lab and lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Her work focuses on AI ethics and the organizational integration of AI, particularly in industrial and organizational contexts. She specializes in responsible AI and examines how organizations adopt, structure, and govern AI technologies in practice.

Rodrigo Conde Jiménez, B.A., MPA (AI Factory Austria AI:AT)
Rodrigo is a PhD researcher at the Center of Innovation Systems and Policy of the Austrian Institute of Technology. He holds a B.A. in International Relations from the Corvinus University of Budapest, as well as a Master of Public Administration from the Central European University. His work and research experience showcase his interests in technology regulation, as well as in the development and analysis of policymaking processes in the field of innovation and technology. Currently he is working in topics related to the governance of AI, and AI ethics, and is currently writing a dissertation on the multilevel governance of AI.

Krisztina Rozgonyi (AI Factory Austria AI:AT)
DDr. phil. et iur. Krisztina Rozgonyi MBA is aSenior Scientistat the Austrian Institute of Technology (AIT) within theCenter for Innovation Systems & Policy. Her work focuses on infocommunication policy and societal transformations, digital platform governance, AI ethics and policy change, as well as the rule of law in governance. She has an extensive track record as asenior international expertin media, telecommunications, and intellectual property law and policy. She has collaborated with international and European organizations (such as the ITU/UN, UNESCO, Council of Europe, European Commission, World Bank InfoDev, OSCE, and BBC MA), national governments, and regulators as an adviser on media freedom, spectrum policy, and digital platform governance. She has also been deeply involved in legal and policy reform processes. Before her academic career, she served as the head of a Telecommunications Regulatory Authority in an EU Member State. Currently, Dr. Rozgonyi is also affiliated with the Institute forComparative Media and Communication Studies (CMC)at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW), where her research focuses on comparative media systems. She is furthermore a fellow with thepolicy platformat the Department of Communication of the University of Vienna. At AI:AT, she collaborates closely with the Legal & Ethics Team, supporting projects that embed trustworthy AI by design, with a particular emphasis on intellectual property aspects of AI development and deployment.
