Inhalt und Ziele

Human control is a key element of Trustworthy AI. It raises practical questions that are highly relevant for actors developing, deploying or using AI systems: How can humans understand, monitor and intervene in AI-supported processes? When is human oversight meaningful, and when does it risk becoming a mere formality? How can responsibilities and oversight mechanisms be designed in practice?

In this interactive 1.5h session, we will explore the topic of human control. Participants will work with their own AI or pre-selected use cases and reflect on oversight approaches such ashuman-in-the-loop,human-on-the-loopandhuman-in-command.

Key topics include:

  • Human control as a core element of Trustworthy AI
  • Human-in-the-loop, human-on-the-loop and human-in-command in practice
  • Choosing appropriate oversight models for different AI use cases
  • Peer exchange on practical implementation challenges
  • Risks of ineffective oversight

Important:Participants are asked to bring a concrete AI use case from their own work or project context. This use case will serve as the basis for the interactive exercise and peer discussion during the workshop. There will be pre-selected use cases available for those participants not bringing a case with them.
